Spindrift for Schools has created the educational kit ” Inspired by Nature: committed to action!” in partnership with the Departmental Services of National Education of Morbihan (DSDEN56), the French Réseau Canopé of Lorient and with the support of UNESCO.
It is a free tool, available without registration, and can be downloaded in 3 versions (French, English, and interactive): Inspired by Nature: committed to action!
This educational kit focuses on the global “30×30” call to protect at least 30% of the planet by 2030. This resource is available to everyone to help better understand the reasons why it is essential to preserve our planet’s fragile balance, its biodiversity and its various ecosystems.
“Inspired by Nature: committed to action!” is based on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda and the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO (IOC-Unesco) has included this kit in its program for the Decade of Ocean Sciences for Sustainable Development.
A series of conferences and workshops led by scientific experts are also scheduled throughout the year with the support of the Réseau Canopé, to accompany education professionals on the implementation of participatory tools in classes in Brittany and Morbihan: Fête de la science: conference and workshops in participatory science & biodiversity
About Spindrift for Schools
Spindrift for Schools is aimed at teachers in France and Switzerland and at the younger generation. It is approved by the French Ministry of Education, with whom a partnership agreement has been signed on the subject of Education for Sustainable Development.
Spindrift for Schools was created by Dona Bertarelli and Yann Guichard so that through their philanthropic experiences and their sailing, they can share the richness of the natural world with young people, as well as the importance of biodiversity conservation. The entire fleet of Spindrift racing carries the “30×30” message through Sails of Change, which aims to raise awareness of the importance of protecting and restoring nature by sharing ideas, knowledge and solutions.
