The TransforMAR project, proposed by the Non-Profit Local Non-Governmental Organization “Tatauga Dive Association”, is a strategy for social transformation through environmental education.
Born from the simple dream that scuba diving is for everyone, the TransforMAR project provides young people from low-income families with the opportunity to explore the underwater world. This transformative experience fosters a sense of belonging and immersion in vibrant marine life, creating unforgettable memories. By combining theoretical and practical content, the TransforMAR project integrates scuba diving with educational activities focused on marine biology and environmental conservation. This interaction with marine biodiversity promotes environmental awareness among vulnerable youth, contributing to a fair and equitable society and encouraging sustainable consumption patterns.
TransforMAR delivers environmental education to vulnerable youth, focusing on traditional communities and indigenous peoples. Using scuba diving as a tool for environmental education, we provide our participants with underwater experiences. Since our inception, we have reached over 500 young people, achieving significant results in building a better future for them by promoting ocean literacy in coastal communities and fostering sustainable actions within these communities.
