Coral Research and Development Accelerator Platform (CORDAP) – Saudi Arabia
The Coral Research & Development Accelerator Platform’s (CORDAP) main activity is the funding, implementation, and management of coordinated and collaborative global R&D programs for the conservation of warm- and cold-water corals.
Specifically, CORDAP-funded projects will accelerate the development, and pilot testing, of next-generation, accessible, scalable, and affordable solutions to conserve and restore corals and coral reefs. Other key objectives of CORDAP are to connect existing national, regional, and international R&D programs, provide advanced R&D training, facilitate access to information and research facilities for scientists in developing countries, and leverage the R&D capacity of the private sector to meet these goals.
As a not-for-profit foundation funded by voluntary contributions, the platform has an Initiative Governing Committee composed of member countries and coral organizations and is guided by an international Scientific and Advisory Committee.
