ICB-Ocean Science for COVID-19 aims at enhancing the capacity of government bodies, communities and non- governmental organisations to monitor coastal areas effectively around the COVID-19 pandemic.

Most marine litter that goes into the ocean is fed by inland water sources. Marine litter is a global challenge that needs to be addressed at the regional level especially during this time where the world has been hit by COVID-19 pandemic. To mitigate this challenge, ICB-Ocean Science for COVID-19 aims to improve litter management by developing a baseline that provides measurements of the amount of litter being produced within Tanzania.
