Ghost Fishing Solutions is committed to addressing the critical issue of ghost gear, abandoned fishing gear that harms marine life and ecosystems.

This Decade Action goes beyond retrieval and recycling, aiming to prevent ghost fishing through innovative tech and practices. The initiative aligns with Ocean Decade Programmes such as SAFE OCEAN (marine pollution) and Cultural Heritage Framework (community involvement). The efforts also synergize with Ocean Acidification Research for Sustainability (OARS) to restore ecosystems and raise awareness. By uniting expertise with broader Ocean Decade initiatives, the Project contributes significantly to global ocean sustainability and restoration.
