Give your feedback on the draft recommendations of the Vision 2030 process during the 2024 Ocean Decade Conference.
In advance of the 2024 Ocean Decade Conference that will be held in Barcelona from 10-12 Abril, the draft recommendations of the Vision 2030 process have been released. The draft Vision 2030 Outcomes Report and associated White Papers are now available and will feed discussion and debate during the Conference. The documents can be accessed at the following link.
Participants attending the 2024 Ocean Decade Conference will have the opportunity to share their insights on the draft recommendations during the four thematic sessions of the Conference where the results of the Vision 2030 process will take center stage.
For those unable to join the Conference in person, the plenary sessions will be livestreamed and viewers will have access to a QR code to provide comments and feedback on the documents. The livestream of the plenary sessions will be accessible at the following link.

Acerca del Decenio de los Océanos:
Proclamado en 2017 por la Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas, el Decenio de las Naciones Unidas de las Ciencias Oceánicas para el Desarrollo Sostenible (2021-2030) ("el Decenio de los Océanos") busca estimular la ciencia y la generación de conocimientos oceánicos para revertir el deterioro del estado del sistema oceánico y catalizar nuevas oportunidades para el desarrollo sostenible de este enorme ecosistema marino. La visión del Decenio de los Océanos es "la ciencia que necesitamos para el océano que queremos". El Decenio de los Océanos proporciona un marco de convocatoria para que los científicos y las partes interesadas de diversos sectores desarrollen el conocimiento científico y las asociaciones necesarias para acelerar y aprovechar los avances en la ciencia de los océanos para lograr una mejor comprensión del sistema oceánico, y ofrecer soluciones basadas en la ciencia para lograr la Agenda 2030. La Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas encomendó a la Comisión Oceanográfica Intergubernamental (COI) de la UNESCO la coordinación de los preparativos y la ejecución del Decenio.
Acerca de la COI/UNESCO:
La Comisión Oceanográfica Intergubernamental de la UNESCO (CO I/UNESCO) promueve la cooperación internacional en ciencias del mar para mejorar la gestión de los océanos, las costas y los recursos marinos. La COI hace posible que sus 150 Estados Miembros trabajen juntos coordinando programas de desarrollo de capacidades, observaciones y servicios oceánicos, ciencias del mar y alerta de tsunamis.
