Currensea Insights is a coastal observing initiative designed to map the health of coastal, urban and freshwater systems through an open, real-time platform.
Our network of autonomous sensor buoys will generate real time data and comparable time series of biological, chemical, physical parameters that feed into our interactive portal where researchers, policymakers, and the public explore trends, compare areas, and obtain high-resolution data for science.
By turning observations into user-ready knowledge for MSP/EIA, compliance, and policy, Currensea Insights strengthens CoastPredict’s ambition to expand sustained observing and prediction capacity along coasts worldwide.
By providing open-access data, Currensea Insights strengthens research and evidence-based decision-making, supports ecosystems, and raises awareness of ocean health.
The platform connects science, governance, and society, accelerating progress towards the Ocean Decade outcomes and the 2030 Agenda.
