In April 2024, together with researchers from Delft University and the University Centre in Svalbard (UNIS), researchers from Arctic Reflections conducted a field test to verify the impact potential of the ice thickening method, as part of their Arctic Sea Ice Restoration project endorsed by the Ocean Decade.
This was the first time this method was tried out in the Arctic in a comprehensive way, collecting a wealth of data and observations. A summary of findings is available in this Research Summary Report.
This can be seen as a first step towards validating the effectiveness of Arctic Ice Thickening to preserve local natural habitats and sea ice as a reflective surface. If you have any feedback on this report, feel free to contact: info@arcticreflections.earth
