Spindrift for schools is an educational programme to raise young people's awareness of environmental protection, particularly of the oceans. The interdisciplinary contents are based on the experience of Dona Bertarelli and Yann Guichard's round the world sailing tours.
"DRAWING INSPIRATION FROM OUR EXPERIENCE SAILING AROUND THE WORLD TO LEARN FROM NATURE AND PRESERVE IT IN RETURN" Yann and Dona
During the winter of 2021, for their next record attempt for the Jules Verne Trophy (limited carbon footprint and waste) the boat will support the cause of the 30x30 (30% of the planet protected in 2030). In order to make young people aware of this cause and the environmental issues, the resource kit produced by SFS will be based on oceanographic sciences and will open the door to innovative and concrete solutions, notably through art. Each theme will be aligned with the 17 SDOs of the United Nations 2030 agenda. These educational resources will be transversal and inclusive and an interactive padlet will be proposed to young people in order to participate in the project during the race and beyond.
