SAMS, European Marine Science Park, by Oban, PA37 1QA Oban GBR
SAMS is an independent, non-profit marine research organisation. We research how the marine environment works, how and why it is changing and how we could use and treat it better. Then we educate, communicate and promote what we find for the public good. Our aim is to contribute to healthy and productive seas and oceans that support life on Earth and continue to provide us with resources.
SAMS hosts two UK national capability facilities: the Culture Collection of Algae and Protozoa and the Scottish Marine Robotics Facility.
We offer education as an academic partner of the University of the Highlands and Islands and our commercial arm, SAMS Research Services Ltd, provides bespoke marine science consultancy and survey work.
