Responding to the Ocean Decade Challenge 10, this activity aims to understand the link between marine identity and people taking action to transform the human-ocean relationship (marine citizenship). This international researcher-practitioner collaboration aims, via workshops, shared writing tasks, and networking platforms, to co-produce a multinational and cross-cultural understanding of the nature and types of marine identities. The findings will be presented in an academic paper for publication and at the Ocean Decade endorsed Territorialising the High Sea session of the 2023 Ocean and Seas in Geographical Thought IGU Thematic conference.
