The 1st Ocean Decade Marine Eco-restoration Award identifies and promotes technologies, models and solutions for marine ecosystem restoration.
Participants must submit field-tested or high-potential projects, with winners gaining support for real-world application. It tackles climate change, accelerates global ocean sustainability and fosters human-ocean harmony. The award features three regular tracks, open to proven approaches or new technologies from researchers, NGOs and enterprises, as well as innovations from college students. It supports Ocean Decade’s Outcome 2 (A Healthy & Resilient Ocean) and 3 (A Productive Ocean) by integrating cutting-edge research, community-led actions and policy-relevant tools.
As a global platform, it showcases well-practiced solutions, fosters innovations and advances the public awareness of marine eco-restoration, especially among youth. It enhances both the technical capabilities and implementation efficiency of marine eco-restoration and sustainable development.
