ブラジルの活気あふれる沿岸都市リオデジャネイロは、2027年に次期「海洋の10年」会議を開催し、世界の海洋コミュニティを迎え入れる。これは科学に基づく海洋行動を加速させ、「海洋の10年」の遺産を形作る画期的な瞬間となる。
本会議は、海洋の10年の主導機関としてのユネスコ政府間海洋学委員会（IOC）、ブラジル科学技術革新省（MCTI）、ならびにリオデジャネイロ市との共催により実施される。
海洋コミュニティとパートナーにとって、この10年の残り3年間において、進捗状況を評価し、新たな取り組みを発表し、拡張性と持続可能性を備えた影響を生み出すためのパートナーシップを構築するまたとない機会となる。さらに、この10年後のレガシーの基盤について議論する場となる。
本カンファレンスは最大2,000名を対象とした3日間の対面式イベントであり、パートナー各社がカンファレンスのテーマに関連するサテライトイベント、展示会、ネットワーキングイベントを提案・主導する機会を設けます。
