The U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) and National Institutes of Health (NIH) Centers for Oceans and Human Health program addresses important questions on the connections between the environment, climate, and human health.

Centers foster interdisciplinary collaborations among biomedical researchers, physical and oceanographic scientists, and community partners. Together, these collaborations investigate the climatic factors and human health effects of marine plastics, toxins, and harmful algal blooms, among other marine-related human health concerns.
