The Namlolwe I-Hub “Sources-Into-Seas” Africa-Europe Epistemic Dialogue on Ocean Plastic explores regional epistemic understanding of our oceans in order to co-design what constitutes ocean management and community well being.
The dialogue bridges ocean science epistemic understanding between global north and global Africa (global south) in order to facilitate the uptake of science and ocean knowledge for policy decision making and or innovation and in the process strengthen Africa-Europe Ocean partnership. It builds global solidarity in sustainable ocean management and community well being. These focal areas will help us co-design sustainable management and community wellbeing approaches to facilitate the uptake of science and ocean knowledge for policy decision making and or innovation as required by the Ocean Decade.
The 2026-2027 dialogue is organised by the Center for Media, Democracy, Peace & Security, Rongo University (Kenya) in collaboration with Kate Hamburger Kollege Cultures of Research RWTH Aachen University (Germany) and in partnership with the Peacemakers Corps Foundation Kenya (PCFK) and Voice of the Seas Aachen (VoS).
