Watershed education and native habitat enhancement: clearing invasive species plants and tule harvesting
For our local impact project aligned with this year’s WSL Finals, the WSL One Ocean initiative is partnering with WSL PURE grantee Sea + Soil Collective, CA State Parks, the Juaneño Band of Mission Indians Acjachemen Nation, and community organizations like Bring Back Our Beaches and the Surfrider Foundation. Together, we aim to educate the public on the vital role watershed ecosystems play in preserving biodiversity and honoring Native traditions, while also promoting habitat restoration through the removal of an invasive sea rocket.
