One of the greatest challenges in sustainable ocean utilization is the lack of solid education about the importance of the oceans to human beings.
Band of Steel, a middle school FIRST LEGO LEAGUE robotics team, is addressing this challenge through their Total Ocean Awareness Program which educates people about the ocean’s importance through various formats (live presentations, live demonstrations, YouTube videos, website, Facebook, podcast, a children’s illustrated book, and a hands-on education kit) tailored to different age groups.
