The annual EUMETSAT Supporting Marine Earth Observation Applications training course offers those working in the marine domain the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with experts to exploit EUMETSAT remote sensing products to further their own, self-defined, application or research specific goals.
EUMETSAT welcomes ideas that exploit the altimetry, ocean colour and sea surface temperature data streams from its Copernicus Sentinel-3 and Sentinel-6 satellites and those that use its Ocean and Sea Ice Satellite Application Facility products. Each iteration of the course is offered in partnership with a European research institution, bringing a specific region or expertise to the course.
To date, partners include the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the Alfred Wegener Institute and, for the 2025 edition, the University of Hull.
