Co-produced by UNESCO and the European Space Agency (ESA) and endorsed as part of the Ocean Decade, “Our Ocean from Space” is a photo exhibition that highlights the cutting-edge technology of Earth observation, revealing how satellite data helps monitor and protect marine ecosystems from above. It showcases the urgent need for responsible stewardship of the ocean, emphasizing the role of space technology in tackling global environmental challenges.
“Our Ocean for Space” is displayed on the external fences of UNESCO’s Headquarters in Paris, France. It is featured within the four-part ocean exhibition “The Ocean’s vital role in shaping life on Earth”, organized by UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission. This overarching exhibition addresses the critical challenges facing our oceans and coastal communities, using creative collaborations and partnerships to raise awareness and inspire action.
