The aim of this 75-minute session is to present Member States with the key outcomes and recommendations of two major convenings of the ocean community that have been held in 2024 – namely the 2024 Ocean Decade Conference (Barcelona, April 2024) and the ‘Immersed in Change’ Conference (San José, June 2024). The event will then explore how the recommendations and outcomes of these events related to ocean science and knowledge can be translated to actionable and impactful initiatives that will be support policy and decision making in the lead-up to the 2025 United Nations Ocean Conference (Nice, June 2025) and beyond through the remaining period of the Ocean Decade.
