Red de observación a largo plazo del océano Índico

The purpose of this project is (1) to provide best practice for long and continuous time-series observation targeting the deep ocean, particularly in the western Indian Ocean; (2) to share data, including metadata, collected in the deep western Indian Ocean; and (3) to disseminate knowledge on deep ocean science through improved understanding based on deep ocean observations.

By establishing a sustained long-term mooring program, the initiative will generate high-quality datasets that are openly available to the scientific community.

This effort will advance understanding of deep ocean processes, support international collaboration, and contribute to improved climate prediction, ecosystem assessment, and sustainable ocean management.
