Lead institution:

BioDesign Foundation – Switzerland

Vox Maris – Zero Nets in the Sea is a community-based initiative to recover and transform abandoned fishing nets and marine debris through collaborative action, citizen science, and creative engagement.

Operating in coastal areas with strong ties to artisanal fishing, the project fosters partnerships between local communities, scientists, artists, and institutions to regenerate marine ecosystems and prevent further pollution.

Vox Maris combines data collection, educational outreach, and circular economy models to develop replicable practices and empower coastal territories as active custodians of the sea.
