The “Uncrewed Surface Vehicle (USV) network for the Global Ocean Observing System” project will form a Community of Practice to coordinate step-change increase in oceanic, atmospheric and ecosystem surface and boundary layer observations for estimating air-sea fluxes and interactions across the global ocean, including in the most remote and harsh domains.
The USV network is seen as a key component of the Observing Air-Sea Interactions Strategy (OASIS), bringing together research, public and private communities to deliver sustained surface ocean observations that directly impact our ability to understand and predict a changing ocean and climate, and mitigate against its impacts.
