Tides of Innovation: Caribbean Sargassum Solutions aims to transform the invasive sargassum seaweed into a valuable, biodegradable bioplastic.
This project will not only mitigate the environmental damage caused by sargassum inundations but also create sustainable economic opportunities for Caribbean communities. By focusing on innovative, eco-friendly bioplastic production, the project will contribute to the global fight against plastic pollution and support the development of a sustainable blue economy, aligning with multiple SDGs: SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), and SDG 17 (Partnership for the goals).
