The goal of the “The Caspian Sea Digital Twin” initiative is the creation of “The Caspian Sea Data Center”, which would include an updated archive of satellite, oceanographic, hydrometeorological, hydrodynamic model, atmospheric reanalyses data, results of regional climate change forecasts, electronic atlases, electronic library of publications on the Caspian Sea.

The database will allow assessment of anthropogenic loads on the Caspian Sea environment, ongoing climate change, extreme weather and climate events, the impact of climate change on natural and socio-economic systems, development of a strategy and mechanisms for adaptation to climate change and the state of the Caspian Sea.
