Meet all the endorsed Ocean Decade Actions

Ocean Acidification Research for Sustainability (OARS)

Global Ocean Acidification Observing Network (GOA-ON) - France

Arctic Ocean, Create a digital representation of the Ocean, Expand the Global Ocean Observing System, Indian Ocean, North Atlantic Ocean, North Pacific Ocean, Programme, Protect and restore ecosystems and biodiversity, Skills, knowledge and technology for all, South Atlantic Ocean, South Pacific Ocean, Southern Ocean, Unlock ocean-based solutions to climate change

OARS will foster the development of the science of ocean acidification including the impacts on marine life and sustainability of marine ecosystems in estuarine-coastal-open ocean environments.

The programme will address the SDG target 14.3 ‘Minimize and address the impacts of Ocean Acidification (OA), including through enhanced scientific cooperation at all levels’. Key components include: 1) enhancing regional collaborative efforts, 2) coordination of capacity building in science, 3) codesign and implement observation and research to address the threat of ocean acidification, and 4) communication and delivery of the outputs to policy makers and communities.

This Programme hosts the following Ocean Decade Projects:

Understanding and Addressing Ocean Acidification and Changing Ocean Conditions Through the Development of OA Action Plans

British Columbia OAH Action Plan

Canadian Ocean Acidification Community of Practice

Canadian Arctic Biogeochemsitry Observing Network

Ocean acidification in the Gulf of St. Lawrence

Integrated climate vulnerability assessments

Marine ecosystem stressors in the Arctic
