GINKCO will develop instructional and technology resources to underpin training to grow knowledge on implementing coastal ocean prediction systems for sustainable marine resource management.
Instruction on deploying and operating ocean instruments, as well as data management and communication solutions, will deliver new coastal observations that enhance model-based data synthesis products regionally and globally.
Regional Centres of Excellence will be created to transition instruction into sustained action.
Capacity in GINKCO-informed regional modelling will close the loop from new, sustained observations to improved local predictions, growing local workforces with technical literacy for marine policy making.
Initially, GINKCO-sponsored activities will be spearheaded by CoastPredict experts, GlobalCoast Pilot Sites and logistical support, but the centres of excellence and open access resource repository will continue beyond the project end, achieving enduring capacity development.
