GOAL advances sustainable offshore aquaculture integrated with floating wind energy and low-carbon technologies.
Our international team from Australia, Togo, and China studies diverse ocean environments in the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Ocean, designing offshore aquaculture systems with low-carbon technologies for sustainable food and energy.
The initiative focuses on designing modular, context-specific platforms adaptable to diverse ocean and cultural conditions across multiple countries.
It builds capacity through training programs, co-design with local and Indigenous knowledge holders, and open-access knowledge sharing, ensuring inclusive participation and equitable benefits.
By generating actionable guidelines, environmental assessment frameworks, and policy-relevant insights, GOAL supports evidence-based decision-making, promotes climate-smart ocean food and energy solutions, and contributes to global food security, renewable energy adoption, and sustainable ocean management.
