CODF will actively initiate or participate in major international cooperation organizations or plans and initiate or participate in the Ocean Decade Program with the help of international cooperation organizations or plans. Meanwhile, CODF will work with the Authority for marine affaires of China and formulate more flexible and effective policies and measures to promote the international cooperation among national and international organizations, to provide impetus for China’s deep participation in global ocean governance and the building of a maritime community with a shared future.
  2. Building the bridge for international cooperation, seeking partners and advocacy action plan. With the help of international cooperation platform such as Ocean Decade, CODF will attract partners from China to jointly implement the action plan for Ocean Decade. 3. Multi-stakeholder Response to Ocean Decade. CODF has a close relationship with the government department (such as the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ministry of Ecological Environment), national and local NGOs, Universities, etc. Thus, CODF can make full use of the Chinese research advantages and development basis to put forward diversified action plans.
  4. Deepening strong involvement in building a maritime community with a shared future. A maritime community with a shared future is China’s plan to jointly safeguard the marine ecology, peace, order and prosperity. It focuses on answering the questions of “how can mankind live in harmony with the ocean” and “how can mankind cooperate in the maritime field”. In terms of connotation, both Ocean Decade and a maritime community with a shared future embody the concept of harmonious coexistence between man and nature and the ocean, as well as the concept of sustainable development.
