The ocean literacy project aims to promote actions to develop the Blue School’s strategy to protect marine and coastal ecosystems through the principles of ocean culture.
This project promotes the transfer and appropriation of knowledge about ocean culture through practical activities, both virtual and in-person. Through workshops and meetings, we raise ecological awareness and respect for natural resources, highlighting the importance of protecting the oceans for the planet’s balance. Additionally, we conduct a diagnostic of ocean knowledge with the target audience, assessing the level of understanding, connection, and participation with the ocean, which allows us to identify needs and adjust ocean literacy strategies and the tools used. Between 2020 and 2024, we have impacted more than 5,200 citizens, raising awareness of ocean culture.
